Fun fuel to start the day off satisfied.

Any parent just wants what’s best for their child—and that includes what they’re serving at mealtime. But when you’re scrambling to get the whole brood out the door before you’ve even had your first sip of coffee, it can be hard to find the time and the energy to come up with fresh breakfast ideas to satisfy the whole family, picky palettes included.

Since that daily fuel is so important to set your little ones up for success at school, we teamed up with ALDI to bring you easy-to-prep, kid-approved morning meal ideas. There’s something new and delicious to serve each day of the week—with minimal effort and planning involved—so you can keep on moving through your list of to-dos. Now that’s a win-win.

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, or somehow managed to carve out a few extra minutes in the morning, make oatmeal a more appealing and well-rounded meal by adding some creatively-placed cut-out fruit. A few slices of strawberry and banana, plus a couple of blueberries and apples will do the trick. In a bowl of ALDI Simply Nature Organic Apple Cinnamon Instant Oatmeal, place two strawberries — point side-up — at the top to make the brows. Underneath, set two banana slices for eyes and top with one blueberry each. Just below that, add another strawberry, point side down, to look like a nose. Then, cut three slices of banana in half, so you end up with six half-moon shapes. Place those in a pyramid of three, two, and then one under the eyes. Finally, add an apple slice to both sides of the bowl.

Ice pops for breakfast? Sort of! Unpeel a banana, then pierce it with a popsicle stick. Roll the banana in some melted almond butter (a few seconds in the microwave will do the trick) and ALDI Simply Nature Organic Dark Chocolate Almond Granola. Stick the whole thing in the freezer, and serve the next morning.

What kid would say no to chocolate for breakfast? Put a delicious spin on a French toast by soaking slices of ALDI Specially Selected Chocolate Chip Sliced Brioche Loaf in your French toast egg mixture and baking it off in a casserole dish until it’s set.

To make this healthy — but undeniably fun — breakfast, arrange eight wedges of watermelon into a circle, then add tasty toppings. Spread the whole thing with ALDI Specially Selected Indulgent Vanilla Greek Yogurt, and sprinkle with extras like granola, blueberries, and shredded coconut. Older kids may want to DIY their own pizza.

If your kid turns their nose up at eggs, this is a great way to sneak in a little protein. Swipe some ALDI Simply Nature Creamy Almond Butter on one side of the bread, then drizzle a touch of honey over it and place thinly sliced banana on the other. Sandwich the two pieces together and pan fry with a little butter. The result is an ooey-gooey sandwich the kids will adore.

You can make this classic breakfast favorite even more fun by using shaped cookie cutters to create the hole in the bread before adding an ALDI Simply Nature Grade A Organic Cage Free Brown Egg. Try a gingerbread man or a snowman in the winter; a sun or pineapple in the summer; a heart or a star all the months in between.

While your standard smoothie certainly is a delicious option, it may start to feel ho-hum. Spice things up by adding a little green spinach to ALDI Season’s Choice Berry Medley. Then, pour the nutrient-rich smoothie into a clear glass and add a cute paper straw or fruit garnish.

Whip up a batch of ALDI Aunt Maple’s Protein Pancakes as you normally would, but make each pancake a bit larger and thinner than you might otherwise. While the flap jacks cook, mix some cinnamon sugar, using about ¼ cup cane sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. While the pancakes are still warm, sprinkle each one with a little cinnamon sugar, then roll up.

Place a bit of ALDI Fan Favorites winner Specially Selected Indulgent Greek Yogurt in a bowl and add a layer of rainbow-colored fruit — blueberries, raspberries, green grapes, or another ALDI Fan Favorite, mangoes. Top the whole thing with a bit of ALDI Simply Nature Organic Coconut & Chia Granola for extra crunch. You can do the chopping and most of the assembling for this make-ahead breakfast the night before, so all you have to do is pop it out of the fridge in the morning and top it with granola.
