Laguna Beach Cast Then And Now: Before & After | BEAUTY/crew

The crew have come a long way since Cabo

Let us set the scene: it's 2004. You're sat on the lounge in a denim skirt (not the comfiest option, sure, but very on-trend), side fringe somewhat obstructing your view. Hilary Duff croons 'let's go back, back to the beginning' as the iconic pans of Laguna Beach hit the screen. Long story short, everything is perfect. Mostly because you get to spend the next half hour with your celeb crush (ahem, Stephen, Talan, Trey, take your pick), but in general because it was all-around excellent entertainment. But while some of the cast continued in the entertainment field (Stephen, Kristin, Lauren, Lo, etc.) and we've continued to watch them grow and glow up, others have chosen to live a little more off the radar. So let's take a glimpse at what our Laguna Beach besties (they felt that way, okay?!) look like now. Believe it or not, it's been a whole eighteen years since the show's premiere, so it's safe to say everyone has changed a fair bit since their hotel-renting, ugg-wearing, love triangle flame-fanning days...

Well, it's safe to say our crushes on Colletti are still going strong. We understood our leading ladies' infatuation with the teen heartthrob then, and we understand the world's obsession with him now. He's still rocking the deep brunette spikes, and those big brown eyes are as beautiful as ever. What's that saying about fine wine?! It applies here. Images via: Getty Images

She may have been the unofficial inventor of 'the pouf' but since her days in Laguna (and The Hills), Conrad (AKA everyone's favourite 'nice girl'), has moved onto more modern styles. Her signature now? A slick of black cat eye liner and polished albeit beachy waves. She may be less committed to highlights and straightening, but her honey bronde hair colour remains stunning. We won't lie: we definitely wanted to be Cavallari during Laguna Beach's run. She was the quintessential Californian girl, with glowing, golden skin, sunny blonde strands and a 'too cool to care' natural beauty. All that is true today, too; while she's ditched the '00s side fringe and is (hopefully) opting for faux tanning these days, she's still looking every bit the Californian dream. We approve of the new middle part, as well. If you ask us, Bosworth had the best hair in Laguna. So long! So blonde! So side-swept! She's ditched the sun-kissed strands since, now embracing a deeper, darker shade of brunette. She certainly goes a bit lighter on the tanning these days too, however, it's worth noting that her glow is more luminous than ever. Bonus points for the brows; not only are they grand in present day, but she wore them pretty full (especially for the era) back then as well. Images via: Getty Images

At last; a brunette in Laguna Beach! Though Olsen (now Smith) has maintained her signature shade, she has switched up the depth a touch, opting for a more tailored shade of chocolate (with caramel-hued pieces scattered throughout) over her previous block brunette colour. Aside from that, her velvety tan and million-dollar smile are still going strong! Images via: MTV/@morgansmith

Schuller (now Sinclair) may not have made it to Broadway, but she evidently has made it a goal to commit to a good skin care/SPF routine. Girl is glowing! Sinclair is another one of the Laguna ladies who opts for a lighter wash of bronzer now, but hey, it was the '00s; we all did it! Images via: MTV/@christinasinclair

Schmitz may have been billed as 'Stephen's Wingman' but we think he deserved his own label; perhaps as 'best brows on the show'. Those impressive arches have stayed intact over the years, though his signature smirk seems to have been replaced with a toothy grin. Cute! Images via: IMdB/@dieterschmitz

Phillips was hailed for having the best party house in Laguna, but we'd go as far as to say he also had the best hair (hidden here, however, under a decidedly chic camouflage hat). It was the perfect mix between styled and shaggy; he basically invented the Bieber cut before Bieber himself. His forehead is visible these days, but that winning grin takes us right back! He may have swapped spiky for slick in the hair styling arena, but Wahler is still every bit the heartthrob he was during high school. He's evidently still a fan of facial hair, but has traded his iconic half chin-strap for a more classic beard. Images via: MTV/@jasonwahler

Another cast member that's made a change in the facial hair department? Torriero, who was fresh-faced during the show's first season, but now embraces a grown-up beard and moustache combo. Ironically, while most of the guys have left the spikier styles in the past, he's reviving the voluminous vibe and doing it damn well. Images via: MTV/@talantorriero

Alex H (whose real name is actually Lauren for the record; you just couldn't have too many per show) is a firm member of the 'side part fan club' and pulls it off beautifully! We love to see her embracing a minimalistic makeup routine now; less is definitely more when you're this stunning! Beachy beauty at its finest. Images via: MTV/@lalaolsen

Smith (now Evans) has also stayed true to her deep side part, however, we can see more of her other eye in this more recent snap. She hasn't strayed too far from her original aesthetic, still enjoying a bit of black liner, nude lips (now with less gloss) and a delicious hazelnut hair hue. Images via: MTV/@jessrevans
