Communication, community, and education are our top priorities.

Make sure you mark your calendars for the “Boost the Boro” meeting at 7 pm on July 12th, as it is a very important upcoming meeting.

July is the “kick-off month” for the annual “Beast Feast” business and individual sponsorship request efforts. Beast Feast will be held right before Halloween, October 28-29. Beast Feast provides 90% of the capital needed to do a lot of the community activities that Boost the Boro does.

Last year, the memberships set new records for both business participation and funds received, and Boost the Boro plans to break that record this year. To do that, though, they will need a good deal of involvement. Boost the Boro wish for every member to bring in one to two new sponsors this year. They have figured that most of their sponsors are repeat sponsors, and the sponsors who began with the Bronze or Silver levels gradually increase to higher levels. Terry Nance, Boost the Boro President, says, “We welcome anyone who comes out and would like to help or become a sponsor of a town they really love, the 28320 (Bladenboro Zip Code).”

From Boost the Boro Member Don White:

“The timelines for this year will run for nine weeks, with the initial mailing wave beginning on July 22nd. All Event Level and Platinum Level sponsors will need to be locked down and confirmed ASAP, but no later than September 3rd. All other sponsor levels (Gold, Silver, Bronze) are the same, but by the drop-dead date of September 23rd.”

“Lastly, we have a database of between 90-100 contacts we will be carrying forward this year. Letters of Request will be personalized for each of these contacts from you, as a member, and we will discuss this in more detail at our July meeting.” Instead of a hard copy, you can send an email with an attachment PDF file if need be, but it will need to come from your personal email address so they can maintain the personalization feature of this endeavor.

If you would rather a hard-copy letter be sent on your behalf to a potential contact in their database, they will continue to do that. “If this is a new contact that a letter is to be sent on your behalf, please make sure (and this is important) that you have the following information written down for me:

(1) name of the person to receive the letter

(3) complete mailing address to include city, state, zip

(4) any other information you have, i.e., email, telephone number, is a plus.”
