The initiative offers an independent black skincare business or an individual at the concept/ideas stage of a future skincare brand, access to a suite of free business support assets over 18 months to create a tailored support plan

APPLICATIONS ARE now open for the second time to independent black-owned skincare brands registered in the United Kingdom, including individuals in the early idea stage, for the Arc Light initiative launched in 2020 by leading Swiss professional sun care brand Ultrasun and skincare brand SkinSense by Abi Cleeve.

The initiative is designed to support both black skincare brands and aspiring black skin care brand creators.  Arc Light runs every 18 months.

The initiative offers an independent black skincare business or an individual at the concept/ideas stage of a future skincare brand, access to a suite of free business support assets over 18 months to create a tailored support plan.

Assets available: * Idea stage support

Every 18 months, a brand or individual is selected, with the prior recipient offered continued support relative to their ongoing needs, allowing the number of businesses benefiting from Arc Light to accumulate.

A shortlist will be interviewed and a brand or individual selected by the Arc Light panel:  Ronke Adeyemi, founder Brown Beauty Talk, Lynda Daboh, content creator and brand consultant and Abi Cleeve, MD Ultrasun UK and founder  SkinSense.

Inaugural Arc Light recipient, Abbie Oguntade, founder of Freya & Bailey, said: “ In such a challenging time for everyone including independent brands throughout the pandemic, it has been so valuable to have the consistency of company, advice and support from Abi and her team.

“To have had that access to business and market insight, experience, and contacts has been beneficial not only to my business, but to me personally in my journey as a female entrepreneur.

“Most of all I’ll take with me the real connections I’ve made with those I’ve met through the initiative, which I’m so pleased will continue beyond this”

Abbie has recently added the new Skinelixir range to the Freya & Bailey offering, which  is especially formulated to support the skin through the hormonal journey for women in their 40s and beyond during perimenopause and menopause.

Abi Cleeve said: “Working with Abbie has been an absolute pleasure, her talent, tenacity and creativity have been utterly inspiring.

“The team and I have loved every part of getting to know her and her business, and we’ve made a connection that has just begun in many ways.  Abbie is a light in business and as a fellow female in beauty.  We’d like to thank her frankly!”

The ARC LIGHT initiative invites interested parties to register and complete the application form here: https://www.graphters.co.uk/arclight . Applications close September 30th 2022.
